High-speed hovercraft to tour the Jurassic Coast from Exmouth?

PROPOSALS for high-speed hovercraft excursions along the Jurassic Coast that would stop at Exmouth could be in place by 2008 - but they are dependent on local authorities giving the green light, writes David Beasley.

The £10m plans, proposed by a group of Bournemouth businessmen headed by hotelier Terry Smith, would see trips along the 95-mile long world heritage coastline, beginning at Exmouth and ending at Dawlish Warren. The concept would be for hovercraft to go as far as Weymouth, giving tourists the chance to see the full splendour of the coastline.
